Scarborough Village is a peaceful neighborhood which stands above the Scarborough Bluffs between the Highland Creek and the Lake Ontario. It’s one of Scarborough’s earliest settlements and was the first neighborhood in the region to own a post office. Scarborough village is bordered by the Scarborough Golf Club Road and Bethune  Boulevard to the east, Lake Ontario and Bellamy Ravine Creek to the south, Canadian Railway tracks to the north, and Bellamy Road to the west.

The neighborhood’s pricier homes are located south of Kingston Road. In this region of Scarborough Village, you would find large estate homes, bungalows, and exquisite cottages. The homes on the south side of Hill Crescent overlooks the Lake Ontario. Near Guildwood along Kingston Road are number of high rises and townhouse developments, while the less expensive homes are situated north of Eglinton Avenue. This type of homes includes, cottage-style bungalows around Scarborough Village Park, while west of Markham Road are homes mainly built in the 1950s and 60s which includes, simple brick bungalows, one and a half storey building houses and two storey houses.

There are 7 public elementary schools, 1 elementary high school, and 2 high schools, and 1 public library in Scarborough Village. Scarborough Village Public School (15 Luella St, Scarborough) is one of the most notable ones in the neighborhood.

Shopping

There are numerous shopping malls that serves this neighborhood. The Scarborough Village Mall located at the Midland Avenue has numerous shopping options for shoppers. The community has lots of shopping options located along the Eglinton Avenue, where several small shopping malls with shops for residents. Also, east of Kingston Road is the 2 level Morningside Mall, while the Cedarbrae Shopping Plaza is north of Markham at Lawrence.

There are numerous restaurants in the Scarborough Village Mall located at 3280 Midland Avenue of Scarborough. Korean Grill House, Made In China, Szechuan Legend, Dumpling King, The Buddhist Vegetarian Kitchen, Keung Kee, Midland Court Restaurant, Wai Yu Lau, Hot Party Restaurant, and Double Win Restaurant. While Coco Fresh Juice And Tea and Marathon Donut & Coffee are beverage shops. Recreations. The Scarborough Village Recreation Centre, located at 3600 Kingston Road, is a great spot for fun lovers and residents who wish to spend quality time with their families. The centre is also home to the Scarborough Village Theatre where three indigenous, famed theatre groups perform. There is also the Scarborough Village Park, located off Scarborough Golf Club Road, where baseball games can be played. The park features a baseball diamond with lighting for evening games.

Getting Around/Transit

Residents can get around through the Eglinton Go Train station located west side of Bellamy Road. The Eglinton Go Train provides passengers with train service (approximately twenty minutes) downtown Toronto’s Union Station. Residents can als use the Toronto Transit which provides bus services to the neighborhood through bus routes located along Markham, Bellamy, Scarborough Golf Club Roads and Eglinton Avenue. The high-way 401on-ramp off Markham Road is approximately approximately ten minutes for motorist. While via Kingston Road, motorist are approximately twenty-five minutes to downtown Toronto.
